Overview
The Director of Nursing (DON) plays a critical role in providing a high standard of care for all residents within our community. The DON provides direct management of the nursing team to meet and exceed state and local licensing guidelines. This individual must demonstrate excellent communication skills as they collaborate with physicians, pharmacists, and other care providers, and communicate with residents and family members. The DON leads by example through respectful, diligent, and consistent care and interactions.
Key Responsibilities
Supervision of nursing team
24/7 on-call availability
Review staff scheduling
Ensure proper documentation and accurate resident care records
Comply with company policies and procedures and state/federal regulations
Perform assessments
Complete care plans and participate in care plan meetings
Participate in staff training
Provide or delegate hands-on care as needed
Other tasks as requested by the Executive Director/Administrator
Qualifications
- Valid RN/LPN License
- CPR Certification
- Experience in nursing management/supervision, direct care, and scheduling
- Experience in senior care is preferred
